„Musikindustrie zerstören, freie Musik hören!“ – Unter diesem Motto sind auf dem Musikwiki der Universität Gühlen-Glienicke zahlreiche freie Musikstücke zu sehen bzw. zu hören, so auch das komplette Repertoire von Chomolungmas Kleid, einer Boy-Group aus Ernst-Thälmann-Stadt Hamburg. Wer sind diese Jungs, bei deren Konzerten die weiblichen Ventilatoren kreischen und reihenweise in Ohnmacht fallen?

Bandleader und Leadsänger Assurbanipal Schmerz nahm bereits als Kind Gesangsunterricht und studierte an der Moskauer Lomonossowuniversität Gesang und klassisches Ballett. Er graduierte mit summa cum laude und kehrte nach seinem Abschluss nach Deutschland zurück, um im Harburger Untergrund eine Nahkampfausbildung zu absolvieren. Hier lernte er im Jahre 2006 Sloyment kennen; allerdings vergingen weitere zwei Jahre, bis sich das Projekt „Chomolungmas Kleid“ aus dem Boden stampfte.

Keyboarder und Synthesizer-Freak Lech stammt aus einer polnischen Arbeiterfamilie. Er war bereits als Kind aktiv an der Beseitigung des stalinistischen Unrechtsregimes beteiligt. Sein Vorhaben, mit Erreichen des Eintrittsalters in die Gewerkschaft Solidarność einzutreten, konnte er nicht umsetzen, da aufgrund des von der Solidarność initiierten Verbotes sämtlicher Gewerkschaften auch die Solidarność verboten wurde. Aus Frust darüber wande er sich der Musik zu. Lech verwendet hauptsächlich einen Synthesizer mit Fake-Radioröhren, die nicht beschaltet sind. Selbst das orangefarbene Glimmen ist Fake, denn es kommt nicht von den Glühwendeln der Röhren, sondern von geschickt dahinter versteckten Leuchtdioden.

Sloyment fungiert in der Band hauptsächlich als Backup-Vocal und ist quasi das dritte Rad am Wagen. Sein richtiger Name ist Gultor Großtorbay. Früher hatte er eine Pferdezucht im Weltraum. Aufgrund seines Glaubens musste er vom Planeten Rhombus 41 fliehen. Auf dem Weg nach Erde drei verliebte er sich in eine Echsenfrau, die aber aus rassehygineischen Gründen auf Erde drei nicht erlaubt sind. So verschlug es ihn vor zwölf Jahren mit seinem Raumschiff, das voller trächtiger, eingeölter Breitmaulstuten war,
